Wildlife to discover in West Wales

Latchygors Cottage is conveniently situated for exploring the area's coastal wildlife.  Dolphins can often be seen in Cardigan Bay.  Grey seals bob around in the coastal waters and seal pups can be sighted from September.

In springtime there is a beautiful display of wild flowers along the Coastal Path.  Parts of Skomer Island are carpeted with Bluebells, followed by a sea of Red Campion.

Here at Latchygors we have lots of wildlife of our own.  Wild flowers are plentiful and our hay meadows are a joy to behold, compared to the single green swathes of intensively farmed land.

The lake is home to a variety of amphibians - frogs, toads and newts and, on a warm summer's day, several species of dragonfly and damselfly can be seen skimming the surface of the lake and flying in the adjacent field.
