Wwoofing at Latchygors

Peter and Marilyn Scholfield are registered  WWOOF hosts.

 

Latchygors is a 25 acre smallholding.  We have a few young cattle, poultry, and trout in our fishing lake.  We also have a productive vegetable patch, orchard and polytunnel.  We are not registered as organic, but we follow mainly organic practices.  We do not use herbicides or pesticides on our vegetable and fruit and our cattle and sheep are raised on grass and hay, so that we are confident that we are eating safe, healthy food.  We have been here formore than 20 years and enjoy the lifestyle and the challenge of being as self-suficient as possible.  We also make cider form the apples in the orchard.

 

The work on our smallholding is seasonal and weather dependent; it includes helping with the livestock, gardening, land maintenance etc.

 

WWOOF accommodation is in a well-appointed static caravan situated near the polytunnel.
